June Digest 🙂

Published:

Shift, un-shift, and beyond.

Sponge and Aim Dreaming are rolling along smoothly. At this point, almost everything I absorb, I turn into an episode. This means that I consume considerably less media than I did up to Q1 2023. Most media I consume these days are for meditation. As in… music. Or sounds, more like. I do not multi-task anymore. I can’t believe that three years ago or so, I used to listen to music while writing. Now I don’t listen to anything while taking a walk. Or rather, I listen to the wind and leaves.

Some publication happened this month! Much happy about this. Backlog = not good for psychic health. The soul requires circulation.

ENG to KOR translations of Pure Fiction are happening in the background. It’s too clear now, that there is bound to be a marked separation in the periods of my corpus. So, methinks, I’ll translate everything from Period 1 (gotta think of a cooler name than that…) and then see what happens with the WIPs that were sitting for months on my drives.

This will also be good for my reconciliation with translated works. Yup, reconciliation. For reasons that are silly, from the POV of the present, I condemned my translated stories, because they weren’t original. I mean, yeah, nothing compares to the ECSTASY of original fiction writing (the stories have lives of their own) but even so, I didn’t need to condemn the poor translated babies. So, yeah. It will be good for me to spend time with them.

Noir Urbanisms’s first round of translation is almost complete; HW will do the second round, then I’ll do another third round. Then it will be design (with a designer), back and forth proofreading for multiple rounds. The book will be published by end of November 2023. This has to be so, because we’re publishing with funding from the gov. Yeeees the Korean gov. Government money. Hehehe. It means, we have a deadline.

The blogs are back on their daily schedule. WordPress feels very nice. It’s very much easier to manage hundreds of posts on WordPress.

That said, the trip photographs have still not been all updated. Hahaha. The trip happened in May, and there’s still a backlog. I project that it won’t be until the end of Summer, that I go through them. This is because really, even with the simplest photographs and shortest captions, looking at pictures takes longer than to just write a post. Also, writing something from the now is always more fun.

On the meditation front:

In early June, my first uncontrollable crying-during-meditation happened. (!!!) It was pure catharsis. This first round of crying released so much fear of death.

Thereafter, in the month of June, less intense cathartic events happened. (About 4 different sessions. It’s kinda tricky to define what counts as an “intense cathartic event.”)

Overall, June was a huge breakthrough month for me.

June 2023 Digest

Good month, June was.

The original prediction was that the un-shift would end in late June. And so it was, more or less.
